    1. H.I.T is for the more ‘serious’ reviews – still have some more fun stuff on main channel!

    2. This is almost a “drunk on Amazon” purchase! I can see why HIT wouldn’t take this lol

    3. @Rick Shiels Golf Id love to see the comparison between loft, spin, speed, etc. between 7 & 7H and stuff like that!

  1. Rick could go out and shoot 62 with them and still be like “nah… I don’t fancy the look of them. Not for me.”

  2. Love the channel Rick! You inspired me to take the game seriously and it changed my life! I am 17 years old and I was born with a malformed right hand and arm. I’ve always been a very competitive person but now I’ve found a game that I can play and win! Thanks again Rick! You have changed my life!

    1. Good for you Sam, don’t get caught up on winning . Enjoyment is your number one goal. It is a game you can play for life and it will be full of highs and lows. Good luck on your journey.

Hold on now. Sam says he’s competitive. He likes to win. He wants to win.

47 years ago I shot my first par round after a year of starting. Hey, I can be on tour with a bit more practice. Today, I’ve never been better than a 5. I can count the number of par or better rounds on my digits. I was never going to be a winner.

      Maybe Sam will.
I say go for the win as hard as you gentlemanly can.

    3. @James Town Nothing wrong with aiming high. I am totally with that. But for most of us Amateurs its about having fun

  3. My father is a club maker in FL and he makes more sets of all hybrids than anything else these days. In fact, that’s what I’ve been hitting the last 2 years.

  4. How about a 9 hole video with 2 Finch and Frier where you all bring a set of exotic or forbidden clubs and swap every 3 holes?

  5. Tell you what, I always thought these kinds of clubs were hilarious until I saw the 80+ year olds using them on the course. And then it all made sense to me. 😂

    1. Growing up I had a great uncle that had a 1,3,4,5,7 and 9 wood (all persimmons) maybe an 8-SW) and he was always around 80 with his scores. It drove my dad crazy that he could blast the ball past this little old man but could never beat him.

    2. @Thomas CofieldI carry a 6 hybrid (also a 3,4,and 5) at 65 years. May I hit like your 80 year old.

  6. I have been using the blue Wazakis for about 7 years now. Love ’em. Even went off and bought the 1 and a 3 hybrids. The 7 & SW are my favourites. Nice review Rick. Keep it up …

    1. I have the blue/black Wazakis! I carry the 7h in my bag as my ‘get out of the rough’ club!

    2. @Scolopente i’m over 60, a retired pensioner, 17 hcp, so I don’t mind the strange looks and funny comments about my unusual set of clubs. Even had one caddie in Thailand rush over and tell me I had forgotten my irons. Irons, I told her. I don’t bother with those, haha.

  7. Interesting looking clubs. The old Alien Sand Wedge irons have a really wide and flat sole like that SW hybrid so the design is similar in performance, just don’t need as much of a back swing to get out of a bunker or rough. Good review, especially for high handicap and older golfers.

  8. I think Cleveland has nailed the style with the Launcher Halo irons, they are more progressively shaped through the set so you get closer to a traditional iron with shorter clubs moving into more hybrid shape for the longer clubs. I’d like to see you use those vs using those flashy cheapies😂

    1. Those were my first ever clubs when I got back into golf and I really didn’t like them. They just weren’t for me and I switched them out for more traditional cavity backs.

  9. Pretty cool review, would like to see a comparison with Cleveland hybrid set. Regarding the traditional looks, I played Cleveland XLS tour driver and absolutely loved it. Honestly wished I still had it and would love to see someone make a modern version of that design.

  10. Would actually love a review on some of the more mainstream brand hybrid irons. Like the Cleveland halos or Wilson lauchpads

  11. Rick, start a new series where you play a couple of holes with these new clubs and others, then hold a scorecard to see end of the year what clubs really gave you the best performance 😊

  12. You should do the break 75 at a course where you haven’t broken 75 to put them to a true test! Keep the content coming Rick!

  13. I use the Cleveland HALO hybrid iron set. They’ve really helped me find my swing and I’ll probably go to a more traditional style of irons in the future; but even I knew to keep a couple of wedges in my bag for the close work. I’d have no faith in myself with a sand wedge hybrid.

  14. I would love to see Rick do a round using all max forgiveness clubs. To show that it isn’t all about distance

  15. I at one point considered getting an all hybrid iron set. I ended up with 2- 5 hybrids, and the rest irons/wedges. That seems to be good for me.

  16. I played twice last week while visiting family. I had to use my father in law’s extra set of clubs, and not having a proper wedge cost me 7 strokes easily. The hybrid sand wedge looks like it would be nice for those 50 yards shots, when you don’t need to get over a big obstacle (sort of a long range ChipR). But anything less than that, you can’t substitute what a traditional wedge can do. Great video, Rick!

  17. Great review – love watching the “odd” club reviews as it’s nice to see the weird and wonderful over the big main brands!

  18. Great video Rick. You definitely need to dial in your yardages before you do the Break 75. I’ve added a 9 wood, 6 hybrid & Ping ChipR to my bag recently. I’m playing much better golf because I have pushed aside my ego and found what actually works for me. I just smile when I hear… “Wow, that’s a lot of head covers!”
