Personally got the Titleist T100 irons 4 to PW (46) and SM9 wedges 50, 54, 58 – can say they will not be leaving the bag for many years!
Agree with u on that! I got the same iron set up, and sm9 60° n about to get a 52 or 54. T100 were the best irons i’ve tried in the fitting n they will be in the bag for a long time!
After playing 2019 T200’s for a year, i was recently custom fit for T100s, best irons ever. same, they’ll be in my bag until the grooves wear out !
I appreciated hearing your thought process and rationales for choosing both the clubs that are (or will be) leaving the bag and those that are staying. Thanks!
Would be cool to see some Wilson Staff gear in the bag. The new Dynapwr Carbon driver looks sweet or even their irons. Hugely underrated brand!
Have my cbs plus the utility irons from 15 degrees onwards, love them, high quality and excellent
Wilson golf clubs have been in the hands of major wins something in excess of 60 times, no other club manufacturer will ever come close, none.
Loving my D9 forged too.
I’ve heard mostly good things about the dynapower line, but honestly I’m hesitant after seeing Pete cave the face on during testing
Wilson Staff Model CB Irons 🔥🔥🏌♂️🏌♂️
I think Rick would do well with a Srixon ZX7/ZX5 MkII combo set. Turf interaction is the best out there and they are super soft, accurate and forgiving 🎯
Superb irons I currently play the combo set best irons I have used.
he doesn’t seem to review much srixon clubs – last srixon club review i saw from him was for 745/945 irons
Rick needs to work on his swing first.
Zx5 is a solid choice.. especially since he does not want the “power” irons. I Mixed in the ZX4 3 and 4 iron.. solid solid set.
I really wish Rick would do a video with TXG boys for a full bag fitting. I think that would help Rick more than anything.
Yes
War eagle
Get it Rick. This would help so much!
Exactly the idea I had. Do the fitting collab, and then a couple of Break 75 rounds in Canada to make the trip extra worthwhile.
Great idea
Very surprised you didn’t upgrade to the latest Ping driver. Sounds like it has all the forgiveness with more distance and better sound. Everything else made sense. Excited to see what you end up replacing everything you are with! Great explanations and reviews.
I agree. I upgraded after playing the 425 for a year and I love the 430. PING really came through as advertised.
I figured after how well he hit it at Augusta there was no way he was swapping that one out. If I hit that tee shot off 1 that’d be my driver for life lol
I’ve got a G425 driver too – there’s definitely nothing I’d change it for, even though it’s tempting with the extra distance I could get when testing callaway alternatives
As someone who has followed you since around 2015, hearing you preview matches against some of the best players in the world makes me so happy for you. You deserve this man!
I think it would be really interesting to see you build a bag with all different clubs from whats in your current one (maybe a grey area for putter and ball but at the same time lets get crazy with it) and then compare/compete the bags against each other to come out with the ultimate combo bag at the end.
I hope you consider the ping i230. I don’t have the talent to play them but my friend does. its amazing how much more accurate he is with these clubs !
Great club. I thought I was going to go with the i59s but after trying the 230s I went with a full set of them. They’re still a players iron but with some nice forgiveness.
I actually just went with the i525 over the 230’s. My heatmap on the club face was dead center every shot with both. But more accurate with the i525. Liked them both a lot though
match them with the Ping glide wedges to sort out that chipping. you should have more bounce for softer ground and less for the hard pan. I think more bounce off bermuda grass too
This is great – the adventure of watching Rick search for new irons is always a blast! Looking forward to it!
Great content Rick, new sticks always bring a level of confidence when we play. Looking forward to more videos!!
Hey Mom you’re embarrassing me again. Could you please put those puppies away before commenting.
Rick, I just came back from 20+ years away from the game, and I sometimes have no idea what I am doing. Your videos motivate and entertain me when I can barely walk with one foot in front of the other, let alone hit a golf ball straight. Thanks for the content! Check out some courses in Nova Scotia at some point, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised!
Viewer Poll:
How long do we think it takes until the club review studio is finished?
• Keep in mind they have to add a simulator and screen (which can take 6 hours)
• Paint the walls (Primer + 2 coats + in between dry time)
• Wheel in some studio lighting (however long it takes to screw tripods together and mount the lights)
• Install any furnishings & decor such as desks, plants, wall graphics, etc.
I reckon it should be ready by February 2024
Great to hear more reviews of golf clubs coming back, they’ve been sadly missed.
Great video! I love how Rick steps through his thought process. I also love how he leaves all of his “binned” clubs as cliffhangers with the unspoken hopes a different brand will reach out and throw him a bone on replacing them 🙂 haha just teasing! Thanks for the great content (as always) Rick!
Rick, here is an idea for you; when testing the new golf ball you would like to use try making it a blind test where you paint the ball or mark out the branding. This would allow you to focus on feel and performance.
If you haven’t already done so, I suggest trying castle tees. I have been using them for about a year and really enjoy them. I use the orange one for my driver and blue one for everything else. I also like my 4 and 5 hybrids. Currently only have 6-9 irons in the bag.
Mostly excited for the new reviews channel. That’s what got me into golf. I was just up late at night watching you review clubs even though I’ve never golfed in my life lol. It made me want to golf and here I am 5 years later golfing all the time 🙌🏼
Genuinely love how honest you are about clubs and brands 👌🏻
