    1. @Rick Shiels Golf I cook at a top golf type place. I’m 4 months into this golf journey.. I had a stress fracture in my 4th metatarsal on my lead foot become splintered and a full on fracture. I thought I had gout as I walk almost every where since I have epilepsy. Two months later I’m in a walking cast and have grown a bone around the fracture since I waited so long.
Good news is my body made the extra bone so my body will dissolve it is what the specialist said. No surgery needed!!🎶🎶👂👂

    2. I have been hitting balls regularly in a boot for 2 weeks since I got it and I hit 235 with a driver and 200 twice with a 5 iron. Just got my first set of clubs (Callaway X hot) and accoutrement and I’m excited to play my first game!!!

    3. @Icarus 877 It’s open in the sense that players have the chance to play their way into the event (though there are certain players who are exempt from the qualifying process), not that any random can just show up and sign up. This is in contrast to an invitational tournament, where the field is entirely set by the organizer’s invitations. Regardless, they have to limit the field somehow, as there are only so many tee times they can fit in a day.

    4. Tell me you didn’t listen to the first 25 seconds of the podcast without telling me you didn’t listen to the first 25 seconds of the podcast.

    5. @Rick Shiels Golf

No worries man. Great effort on your 150 mile stroll.

Hope you’ve recovered by next week.

  1. My lowest scores playing golf always seemed to happen when I was too tired to be playing at all lol. Stayed up all night once playing billiards….then met 3 friends at 6:30am to play 18 holes….I could barely swing….the ball went exactly where I wanted it to…long off the tee…sank all kinds of putts…i was shocked and so were my friends lol

    1. Too tired to over think 👍. The best I played was in 38 degree hot. It was so hot, I just wanted to hit the ball and get back to the shade. Didn’t have time to start thinking about my swing, so everything just flowed

    2. @Robert Edwards ….nice! Mental and physical exhaustion before or during play numbs the brain from screwing things up? Possibly? Might be onto something here? Lol

  2. Would be pretty cool to see you and Guy play the GM golf guys! Would be a great match

  3. Just caddied for my mate in the local cc final. More nervous than I’ve ever been on a gc. Well done Rick and commiserations John

  4. This was so good. Very respectful to John. It was so very interesting to experience this, especially from the Caddy’s perspective. Maybe a follow up type of video with a PGA Tour Caddy, maybe caddying for you on a Break 75 would be eye opening for viewers to understand a different part of the game. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  5. John managed to achieve something many of us could only dream off, great stuff and great for him to push through all 36 holes! Loved hearing the insight, can’t wait for The Open, it’s the only competition in golf I get excited for every year! 👍

    1. @Isaac Fils personally I am not to fussed about the masters. For me golf is links, watching the best players in the world on the hardest links courses is what I enjoy about the open. I will watch bits and pieces of the other majors, highlights etc but The Open is the only competition I will sit and watch all 4 days off and get truly excited for.

  6. What a great and insightful vid. Thanks to John also for inviting us all along on his journey, inspirational stuff regardless of the actual outcome on the day, still really inspiring. Golf, what a game!

  7. Such a great talk from both of you guys. It really gives you a great perspective of the level there is out there. Looking forward the open like never before. Applied for tickets but no chance unfortunately.

  8. A great insight into the process of qualifying. Huge thanks to Jon. Commiserations but there’s always next year.

  9. Rick everything you say is true. I caddied for my best friend in 1998 in Regional Q. We then went to Hillside in Final Q and qualified for the Open at Birkdale. Best moment of my life walking from Hillside across to Birkdale (the two are linked) and seeing the stands knowing we were to play in the greatest Championship in Golf! I still have my caddy Bib in a frame (and he gave me his players medal)

  10. I just started getting into golf about a month or two ago
your videos have been very helpful
thank you for all you do for us beginners!!

  11. Rick love watching your videos. I am a painter and your studio needs painting properly, there is gaps around wood framing and there is white paint on your grey walls at bottom of frame. I will sort it for a two hour lesson. Your videos are amazing 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️

  12. Enjoyed that, thanks, commiserations John, you absolutely smashed it to even get there mate. 👍🏻

  13. Fantastic work getting to the final qualifying John B. Massive achievement. Hard luck the round wasn’t a normal round for you, can imagine the frustration of not playing like you know you can/should. Next year!!

  14. Great episode! Loved this, was out playing today, trying to break my first 90 this summer. But today was bad, weather was perfect but was well on pace for break 90 for the first 6 holes, then a switch was flicked and everything went to sh*t. Every single club was not working. Can only agree with Guy at the end, Golf is Hard. New day tomorrow though!
