  1. Been waiting on this one! Bought the G425 and it’s my favorite driver I’ve ever owned. I even gained distance with it. Thank you Rick!

  2. Would love to see dispersion charts at some point in the video. Considering the ping is one of the brands thats priority is in forgiveness it would be good to be apart of your review

    1. Dispersion will depend on how consistent your swing is – never fail to be amazed that so many handicappers think the latest clubs will fix bad technique

    2. From what I remember of past reviews, he typically only mentions dispersion if it’s real bad. Like in his last review, it had ~30 yard variance (from memory, I might be off a bit but you get the idea)

    3. @Nick Munton Of course dispersion is dependant on the swing, but as he goes on about in the review, the major selling point of these drivers in particular is their forgiveness – which affects dispersion with slight mishits (not massive slices etc).. My pet hate is reviewers who go on endlessly about length.. who cares if you go ten yards further into the rough every time…

  3. Big g425 max fan. I’ve been anticipating the 430 line I just hit the g430 max and the g430 lst. Very surprised that I like the g425 max the best. I like the 425 sound so it’s all good with my current set up. Really surprised myself.

  4. I feel the color schemes of this year’s drivers make them look cheap. This is accross all brands except Titleist.

  5. I have the 425LST and I love it, it’s made me 50x more confident getting off a tee box I know where I’m going to hit it, thanks for the video was excited to see what they released

  6. I think that ping just differentiated the two models this year and you’re fit more to the LST with the spin going up in the max this year

    1. It’s funny just about every other review shows a spin decrease with the 430max vs 425max yet Ricks went up. Pays to get fit for this one.

  7. Rick I feel like you launch it too high at 17 degrees and should use a lower loft like 8 degrees which will lower your spin and improve distance
as you should launch it around 12-14

    1. I have the Radspeed XB driver, which I love, but on a monitor i was doing the same thing as Rick. Launching at 17 or so degrees with high 2,000 backspin with my 103 mph swing speed. Dropped the loft down from 9 to 8 and now my window is 13 degrees of launch and low 2,000 backspin. Perfect.

  8. The new Callaway Paryadym easily is best looking for my eyes and deff would love to try it but the ping would be tested right with it cause I love the G400 I have and play 50 % with the 16M2 I play other half but the G430 my best guess is what ping always does , makes great products.

  9. Got fitted for this (and purchased) last weekend. Tried the stealth 2 and TRS2 as well. Couldn’t hit the Stealth, just no fargivness for me. It was a toss up between the G430 and trs2 and very similar numbers but the ping is 50+ pounds cheaper. My current driver is a cleavland launcher, hence the well needed upgrade.

  10. I just bought the G425 max in new condition, they have good prize now that G430 is released, I thought it was the right decision, now convinced after Rick’s review

  11. I play the G-425 Max, and I appreciate the honest review as always. You are the best of the best at your craft. Be well and keep up the great work.

  12. For years I’ve been saying if I could only increase the spinsistency of my driver swingocity, I’d be happtastic.

  13. First off, your reviews, as well as your other videos are the best in golf! Love the breaking 75 series in particular. That being said, now that you’ve reviewed the new driver offerings from TaylorMade, Callaway, Cobra and Ping, it would be great to see a chart comparing the data from all the above, including dispersion.

    1. They 9the reviews) just aren’t though. He’s just sat behind a desk reading a prompt. It’s lazy and rushed

    2. @Alex#13 Lazy and rushed? There’s segments to the reviews where he talks about the technology, first feel swings, simulator result, and then golf course swings again after knowing what numbers he got on the simulator. No idea where you get the “reading a prompt” feel from.

  14. I’m currently using the G from 2016 (woods too). I’m getting a full bag fitting at Club Champion this spring. Looking forward to trying the new Ping line up.

  15. Love the honesty and transparency in your product review videos, Rick. Your videos are ALWAYS the first place I come before looking to buy equipment. Thanks for all you do!

  16. Ping literally said, “our driver is good enough, we don’t even need to release a new one.” last year. So on that basis, I feel pretty confident if they release a driver, they at least believe it is a superior product.

  17. Others who have reviewed the G430 had similar feelings. Still a great driver, still forgiving but a few yards shorter in distance. Being that these drivers are nearly $500 dollars, it really doesn’t make sense to replace the G425 if you have it. I am 99 percent sure I will always have a Ping driver in my bag but it might be 5 or 6 years between new purchases.

  18. I’ve been trying to find a reason to buy a new driver but I just can’t hit any of the new ones better than my Mavrik. It just feels right for me. I love the new tech, but the performance I’m getting from them is not worth the $500 investment. Thanks tor the honest review!
