  1. Love the fact that even with all the success you’re still so dedicated to bettering yourself and bringing us along for the ride! Big respect man!

    1. If Rick was dedicated to bettering himself he would be able to break 75. 😂😂😂

Obviously joking, love the content Rick. 😘

    2. Yea it’s nice to see the process, but I don’t think it’s surprising? Would be a bit of a disappointment if he didn’t, everybody wants to get better at golf and despite Rick being a very solid player there’s still so much he can improve in his game.

As someone who took a journey from 30+hcp to mid single digits in a few years I can totally understand that – I might even say that I enjoy the practice and working on my game now more than when I was a more mediocre player.

    3. @Danny yeah it wasn’t so much surprise but I’m sure at times it must be tempting to just rest on your laurels when you have such a following!

Class that you had that journey though as someone new to actually playing golf (have my first 18 hole round booked in for this weekend 🥳) hopefully some day I’ll join you in those single digits 😅

  2. You should hit 5 shots from each position with this club vs your standard 60°, see if it should get into the bag 👀

  3. I used a square strike 55 degree which was nice but I like the look of the sky lob better. With practice I think it could be a deadly weapon

  4. I love the idea of the club, but it needs a little more R&D. I don’t mind specialty clubs like the ChipR, because I’d rather use one of them and get close, than smoke a chip off the green 😂 great video, Rick!

  5. Surprised you are still struggling with chipping after that short game lesson you did. That video was amazing, really helped me be a lot more consistent.

    1. I loved that. It was great to see one of the best coaches in the world share his stuff. Surprised it didn’t seem to work for Rick too.

    2. @Stephen McGeown I suspect at least some of that is 1 solid lesson butting heads with decades of muscle memory

    3. He’s stalling through his swing from what I see.
I agree though! That short game video helped me a whole lot!

  6. If the more upright feeling gives more confidence, wouldn’t using your current wedges with a more upright lie angle for maybe just the 60 be something to try out?

  7. Combined with a high spin rate ball this could be a huge help to so many players. The confidence of a high loft club is awesome IF you can tame your swing and keep your wrists firm. Thanks Rick

  8. I’m really surprised that your not practicing what Dan Greive showed you and not using the bounce of the club to improve your chips.

    1. I saw that video and have been practicing it, and it’s benefited me so much with my rhythm and feel. Started out feeling like I’m doing my shots in slow motion, now just feels relaxed and easy. Great lesson and something Rick should absolutely take to heart.

  9. I used the hell out of my 64° wedge. I always ended up in short yardage areas that a sand wedge would be too much club. The 64 is great for getting up and down from weird approach yardages.

  10. I think we have seen this before. Rick finds a club that does help with a lot of his problems. The problem is, and we all struggle with this, is based on brand and looks etc, we are hesitant to give it the respect it might be due. However, I think Rick is finally coming around ti the idea of getting clubs that improve his current game and not how he used to be. And I think that is a good sign of growth. Much respect

  11. Interesting club and concept. I’m a big proponent of becoming great with the tools you have, so gimmicky clubs don’t always excite me (not that this club is truly gimmicky). But the idea behind this is pretty good. I still like taking the wedge I have and doing what you showed in your chipping video: a more upright stance, more upright angle of the club, etc. Thanks for trying this out and sharing!

  12. It’s great that you review Clubs like this and the Ping Chipr. You never forget us non-scratch Golfers. 👍

  13. This is why your the 🐐Rick . You are constantly working on the game that we all need to practice more . Just recently switched from a chipper thanks to your golf tips .

  14. I would love to see a lesson with Pete Cowen! I feel like it would be a great video and actually help

  15. Great to see something new in an area of “YIPS”. I would look at this as more of a prototype and possibly expand into a line of various lofted chippers and perhaps more upright putters. Nice review Rick.

  16. Would like to see Wilson do a rendition of this wedge. They have their “Harmonized” wedges and those have a decent feel for an inexpensive club.
