Let's dive into one of the most typical mistaken beliefs when it comes to setup. For those who are a bit more technically likely, we often think of establishing whatever square to our target line. We want our feet, hips, shoulders, and everything else to be in perfect positioning.
To accomplish this, we generally establish with our shoulders level, thinking that this will create an ideal square positioning. However, this can actually cause us to line up a bit open, leading to weaker shots and a tendency to fade the ball.
The factor for this is that when we established with our shoulders level, it opens them up due to the position of our hands on the club. As we move our right-hand man down the club, our shoulders naturally open, resulting in an open alignment.
