Why Phil Mickelson CONTINUES To Call Out PGA Trip.
Welcome back to Golf District. Back in Saudi Arabia for the very first time because his disparaging remarks about the source of LIV Golf's financing, Phil Mickelson said Thursday he was glad he was on the "winning side" and that he sees the PGA Trip trending downward. Mickelson had stated a month ago that while the PGA Trip had all the very best gamers in the world for the last 20 to 30 years, that would never be the case again. He came out even stronger in a press conference for the LIV Golf Invitational-Jeddah, which begins Friday at Royal Greens in King Abdullah Economic City.
Phil Mickelson made a return to the general public eye this summer with LIV Golf, ending a monthslong self-imposed lack while doing so. He did not, however, return to his previously precious Twitter account. However it appears that might be ready to change. First, some background. For years, Mickelson was one of the faces of pro golf, and it was difficult to escape him. At every huge tournament, inside every U.S. team locker room, at every Masters Champions dinner– even on celebration in the television broadcast booth– there Phil was, flashing his hallmark smile and usually dispensing a joke at another person's cost.
